Fall dessert for gourmet club?

We recently joined a gourmet club and i'm doing dessert for October.  I think we're doing a seasonal theme and need ideas.... i figured something with apples or pumpkin, but could use some ideas.  Anyone have any great recipes or ideas?? feel free to share :)

I was thinking of making apple-pear crumble pie bars for dessert on Sat, but that's not going to pan out and I'm loving the idea of the recipe.

you could do a variation on the pumpkin roll, but adding some additional flavors to the filling.      or perhaps a pumpkin creme brulee, a spice cake with a cranberry glaze?
