This might be particularly helpful for the types that visit message boards :o)

It is run in a similar format to the National Suicide Prevention hotline - in fact in my town the same volunteers do both crisis chat and the lifeline (not on the same shift, though!). They can help connect you to resources in your area and more than anything, can be a safe person to confide in when you feel you don't have anywhere else to turn.
