Need new food recs, dog won't stop eating poop!

Hi Ladies, I need your help.

 We have a beagle and a boston terrier mix.  The boston terrier mix eats dog poop like it's going out of style.  It's so bad he tries to eat it while it's coming out of the beagle's butt.  It's so gross and I just don't understand why he does it.  We keep the yard clean, but obviously I can't stand there with a shovel when our beagle decides to go.  I figure I should try changing their food to see if it makes a difference.  They are currently on costco brand because it's pretty good quality for a great price.  We are planning to go to petsmart tonight to get something else.  Any recs for poop eating dog?

I had a boston that would do this too. I never tried changing food but got all natural pills from Petco or Petsmart that you put into the food. It makes the poop taste bad (or so I was told) and it worked pretty well. I think they were called Deter.

There are certain things you can add to their food as well. I would do a google search. I think pineapple was one of them. We have a beagle who eats poop, but he's not too bad about it unless we don't keep the yard clean like we should.

What do you currently feed? ETA: Never mind - I see you said Costco brand. 

I feed Taste of the Wild, but I don't think Petco or Petsmart sells that. You could try Wellness. I haven't been in a Petco or Petsmart in a long time so I'm not sure what else they sell.

I've heard adding Adolphs meat tenderizer to their food makes the poop taste bad (as if poop didn't taste bad already)!

This. It's what we recommend to all of our clients with poop-eating-pooches. Be sure to get the original flavor (w/o garlic or onion) and sprinkle just a small amount on their good daily.
