What else to have?

We are wanting to have another couple over for dinner. I'm thinking about making homemade lasagna. I would also do garlic bread. Normally, I would do a garden salad, but DH's friend doesn't like garden salads, so I don't really want to make it for just the 3 of us then. Do you think lasagna and garlic bread is enough, or should I add something else? If so, what? Thanks!

does the friend like any kind of veggie? You could do broccoli or something or maybe some roasted root veggies.

If you would normally want salad, and 75% of those there would appreciate it, make a salad. That being said, you could do some broccoli on the side too to round things out. I don't think your guest will be offended if you make a salad he wouldn't eat. It's not like know you're having a vegetarian over and including meat in everything.

would he eat a different kind of salad? such as ceaser? I would still make a salad, since most of the people eating will still eat it.

Cole slaw?, I love it with lasagne.

Or I would saute' spinach with garlic in olive oil. I

always use frozen spinach, so easy.

Thanks! DH and I love salads. I just didn't know if it would be *rude* to make one still knowing someone doesn't eat salads. He does eat other veggies, so that's another option as well. Thanks! :-)

I would also do the salad. If you and your H want it then he just doesn't have to eat it. I would try to do a veggie though

I would also do a salad, because that really goes best with lasagna (more so than another veggie, although I would do a veggie before I would not have anything else on the side).

I have seen people serve a salad without mixing it.  Like have the lettuce in the big salad bowl and then have small dishes or bowls with things to mix in separately (the tomatoes, onions, croutons etc).  That way people can choose what they want/don't want in their salad.  Maybe your friend can build a salad he actually would like?
