WW and IBS

Hi everyone,

I don't believe I have posted on this board before. I am a 27 year-old newly wed who recently joined weight watchers and was diagnosed with Irritable Bowel Syndrome. I I was wondering if anyone had advice for food that is weight watchers friendly and won't bother the IBS.

TIA

I only have experience with IBS. I would recommend that you choose weight watchers foods that don't have dairy, or too much bread, too much pasta, or are too processed. Years ago in order to maintain my weight and because I couldn't cook I used to eat Weight Watchers Smart Ones frozen meals for dinner. It worked but I knew that eating something so processed wasn't good for me so I transitioned to a less processed food diet and it's easier for me to maintain my weight now than I did when I was eating the frozen meals.

I imagine WW foods would be difficult for someone with IBS. I lost 10 lbs in less the. Two months by eating foods that my body could handle (and no activity or exercise involved). I gained 30 lbs in a few months due to being very sick with IBS and not knowing it.

I recommended finding what foods and drinks are your triggers. Months after diagnosis and I still chart what I eat and how it makes me feel. Mayo isn't a normal IBS trigger but it makes me sick. So does coffee and very high amounts of caffeine. High Fructose corn syrup and corn syrup make me ill. Cutting out these out helped tremendously. Like PP overly processed good doesn't sit well with me either.

I used this list to find out if they triggered symptoms.

sorry on my phone so can't make clicky. Almost everything that can be a normal trigger for people with IBS is a trigger for me.

I wouldn't wish IBS on anyone. Good luck.

Thank you both very much for your help! I don't plan on eating WW foods, real foods on the weight watchers plan. The brochure is very helpful!
