garage floor coated anyone?[:|]

Has anyone here gotten their garage floor coated?

 I live in MN and it would be a great addition to our garage being that we use it for more than just a parking space in the winter. I'm leaning towards this one company that does garage floor coating in Minneapolis. It looks like they service my area of Bloomington for a good price, But I am wondering if anyone has done this before? Maybe there is something else I should be looking for before I jump into this project. Perhaps your own do's and don'ts. Any advice will be helpful. Thanks in advance!

I'm in MN too. DH and I considered doing it ourselves (via Home Depot or Lowe's) to our old house's garage but never got around to it.

I think the sealant with specks you toss on for color (if you choose) is at least $100 from those stores.

I like the look and it will prevent all that pitting and cracking somewhat from the snow and salt.

My husband coated the garage floor when we moved into our new house. If you buy the kits at Lowes/Home Depot, make sure to ask the person in the paint department how many to get. We had to get two for a two-car garage and it was just enough. It looks great! Hard work for him, but we're glad we did it.

We did the epoxy floor coating ourselves a few years ago. It was really easy and looked great! It's a pretty easy DIY project :)

Thanks everyone for the great advice. I think I will look into the DIY route. Wish me luck that it gets done before spring! Confused
