Food prices @ Whole Foods/TJ vs. Wal-Mart

I want to make a trip to Whole Foods or Trader Joes to see waht they charge for

-organic free range eggs ( $4.25/dz @ Wal-Mart)

 -organic milk ($6.30/gal @ Wal-Mart)

-coconut oil ($5.99 for a small jar where ever I bought it last)

I have a baby that needs whole milk so we go through around 4 gallons a month.  If I could go once a month on average and get these items cheaper from some place else that's what I would like to do.  We don't have too many options where I live.

Anyone buy these three items from those places above that can tell me before I make a trip out there?  I read an old price list from 2009 that seemed ridiculously cheap and wondered if they could be charging less than Wal-Mart.

OMG, where do you live that organic milk and eggs are that expensive?!  We pay about $3 for organic eggs and $4 for organic milk. (Regular eggs are routinely on sale for $1 and milk for $2.50.)

As my exclamation points out, prices vary drastically by region and often significantly in the same town by store, so we can't answer this question for you.

Trying to figure out where you lived, I clicked on your profile and saw that you post on the military boards.  Are you not near a commissary?  It'll be your cheapest by far - by law, they're only allowed to charge cost + 10%.

if you want to go and seee the stores just go and see what they charge. i'm not a fan of whole foods really (I have a better local market(s) here for things) and i'd rather stab my eyes out than shop at walmart but TJs is nice. go and see. you can freeze milk dont forget so if you find a good price then buy a lot and freeze it. i'm sorry i can't help you with prices. i dont buy milk and i'm on long island so the prices will be different. enjoy your trip to the stores though-how fun!!

I'd try asking this on your local board.

I know I recently bought organic eggs in a 6 pack from Trader Joe's and it was somewehre around 2.79.

Everything is really expensive here though, I live in New England.

You can call the stores to check the prices. They likely vary my location.
