I like the clays but only if it goes with the style of the house, it looks great on a stucco mediternean or spanish architecture. My friend went with clay on a brick home, first of all the installation took a lot longer and more expensive than the traditional shingles, second, I do not like how it looks against a brick house, it's a matter of personal choice, my friend loves it, but honestly it clashes and I think that would have an affect in the sales price when the time comes.
If you want something better, go with higher end shingles, like a 30 year or 40 year shingles, instead of 20 years.
