When Kate met Nik, it wasn’t love at first
sight. In fact, Kate’s college friend and roommate had a crush on Nik,
so she figured he was off-limits. But eventually Kate’s friend started
dating someone else, and the two became close friends. Friendship led
to a relationship, and about a year and a half later, Nik proposed on
the beach in Maine, near her family’s summer home.

the help of a wedding planner, Kate and her mother put together a
destination wedding in Maine. Kate chose a nautical theme with navy and
silver colors to complement their surroundings. Once they discovered
the Newagen Seaside Inn in Southport -- with its views of the rocky
coastline, islands, and lobster boats -- they knew they had found their
site.
