Kansas natives Kimber and
Johnny have known each other for a lifetime. They attended the same
middle school, high school, and even college. But sparks didn’t fly
between the two until both had relocated to California.

Johnny
was living in Los Angeles when he and a few coworkers decided to head
down to San Diego (where Kimber was living) for a Chargers vs. Chiefs
football game. “We went together as a group,” Kimber says, “but Johnny
and I immediately found a connection.” By the time the Super Bowl
rolled around that year, Kimber was sure that Johnny was the one. “My
father jokes that I had to move 1,500 miles away only to come home with
the guy that lived down the street for my whole life,” she says.
Three-and-a-half years later, Johnny proposed, and the two married in a
vibrant fuchsia and orange-colored celebration overlooking the Pacific
Ocean.
