We made our own chuppah using an antique tablecloth, which my great-aunt embroidered decades ago.  The hanging orchids were borrowed from the very talented knottie Jessimurph.

It looks beautiful!  Nice job.

What are the poles made of and where did you get them?  Also, what did you use to attach the cloth to the four poles?

Rach, this is one of my favorite pictures from your wedding :)  It helps that I love to see my flowers :P  Your wedding was SO beautiful!

Thanks for the compliments, ladies!  Sorry for the late response, Erika&Ara..I'm still getting used to this new feature!

We used very plain dowels from a lumberyard (I think Home Depot or Loews).  Since we were using Jessimurph's flowers, we didn't do anything fancy to the poles.  They are taller than the bamboo poles available at Michael's...they should be about 7-8 feet tall to rest comfortably on the ground.

As for attaching the cloth, I think my dad used thin staples or pins to attach it right into the top of the poles.  I will have to verify that, though!  It is also possible to simply nail it in, if you don't mind putting holes in the fabric.

I love the chuppah. I am going to ask my family if we have any old tablecloths!
