Family = Stress
My brother and his wife had a baby a little over a year ago. It was my parents first grandchild. I thought this would make the "When are you going to have a baby?" questions stop. Can I get some Vibes for my family?
My grandmother was diagnosed with Dementia about 18 months ago. She has been declining ever since and a month ago my dad and stepmom decided to move her to a Sunrise assisted living facility. They setup her room today, and tommorow they are taking her over there to see her room and Monday she will move in. Then we have to finish fixing up her house so we can sell it. While I know it's the best thing for her - she won't be alone and will be in a safe place - this is going to be extremely difficult

Breaking up is Hard to Do
While the title may be misleading, the wedding has not been cancelled. Rather, I finally had to dump one of the cake bakers. I got an email on Friday from the woman who works with my sister asking if I still wanted her to do the cake, since she hadn't heard from me since she emailed me the price. Well, I waited until Monday morning, because really, how do you tell someone that you really don't like their cake that much, and that you found a better one. Family saga... just a vent
So, there is a girl in the family (GF of someone) that NO ONE likes... and the couple has been together for close to 3 yrs. She's horrible, and that's an understatement. I have recently begun to feel sorry for the poor girl, but at the same time she brought it on to herself. The boyfriend (family member) knows no one likes her, and he isn't too into her either; but he feels bad breaking up with her. He has attempted now on 2 occassions to do so, but she convinces him not to... you know how it goes,

VENT:I HATE DH FAMILY!
So dh Aunt & uncle when to come out here the first weekend in June 5-9 Which means they will be here for the BIG GTG! I told them that we had plans that weekend Can the come the weekend before or the weekend after & she goes NO because hte PRice it to high! Well I am looking at the flight she was booking & there is like a $20 diff from the first weekend in june & the second weekend! So I talk to Dh this weekend & he is suppose to call His UNcle to talk to him. Well His Aunt IMs

When you live 500 miles away from your family...
The last thing you want to see is an email at 4:30 pm saying your mother is in the ICU. :-(.... She broke her foot about 10 days ago and has a 5-pound splint on her foot that's too heavy for her to walk around in. Since another issue makes it nearly impossible for her to use crutches, she's been basically stuck on the living room couch for the last week. Apparently all the laying down led to blood clots that moved up to her lungs. Nothing makes you feel helpless like not being able to do a darn thing

F/U: Legendary family recipe...
I posted on Saturday about making the legendary family recipe for pound cake for my SIL's birthday. Wouldn't you know, halfway through baking, I realized that I didn't think I'd put enough flour in (my neighbor had come over and was standing in my kitchen talking to me while I was trying to alternate mixing in milk and flour - recipe for disaster). Sure enough, I hadn't... and in flipping the first cake out of the pan to prep the pan for the second cake, I gave myself a nasty burn on the palm. I

In-Laws in the Hospital
On Friday, my husband sudden had an inclination to call his family. He called his mother first and wondered why her voice sounded a little different, so he then called his sister. She informed him that she was in the hospital because she had been hit by a car. Now you don't understand...being hit by a car in Korea usually means YOU physically being hit. Good news and bad news
Our great news is that my BIL finally proposed to his girlfriend, who we all love, and they are now officially engaged! Family Update
Well, my beloved FI's little brother still has not paid up his $500 cell phone bill. The bill has now gone to a bill collector and I have to honestly say that I blew a gasket when I opened that envelope. I forced FI to confront his little bro about it. He got so angry with him that he started yelling at him over the phone and then hung up on his little bro before he could yell right back. Does your family kiss on the mouth?
Sooooo, my DH's family are mouth kissers, especially his mom. I so didn't come from that kind of family - we're not very physically affectionate and you're lucky if you got a hug. For the most part I've been able to duck my MIL (hugging her, or kiss on the cheek) but last night after dinner with his fam she planted one on me. I'm sorry but it feels weird and a little creepy!! Is this normal for family member to do?? I felt dirty afterwards!! :(

Where in DFW metro area to raise family?
Hi ladies! My DH and I moved to Tulsa about two years ago for grad school and now that we're nearing the end, we've begun thinking about next steps and where we'd like to live next year. We've been to Dallas a few times and really like it there... well, I love it, but DH is ok with it.
