Getting Plastered
No, it's not the kind you're thinking of. We have been starting again on our kitchen/dining room renovations, part of which has been going over all the walls with a LOT of plaster! There were tons of holes to fill and now there is plaster dust all over everything! This weekend, Andrew painted primer on everything I had finished and it is sooo much nicer looking, plaster dust and all! We have gotten used to living in a semi construction zone, and seeing progress, finally, in this room has been such

house hunting/offer price
So...I have begun the house hunt on line and we really want to start looking at some homes. We are looking above our price range by $40-50k since prices seem to be falling like crazy. I like one house that has been on the market for about a month and a half and I am unsure if the price will drop...could we really go and offer a lot less or is that just really bad? I don't want to be insulting to the seller. Any thoughts or is anyone else going through this same thing? There have not been many homes

Such a sad atmosphere around our house today :( long
Yesterday our 7 year old lab wasent acting like himeself , ie when we filled his bowl for dinner he didnt run right over and scarf it down. Instead he just wanted to go outside and lay on the back porch. Once he was out there I couldnt get him to come in for probably a good hour. There was no picking him up since hes huge about 120lb. DH finally coaxed him into the house and onto his doggie bed. I held his waterbowl up to him and he drank a little. By 9:30, DH was off to the emergency clinc with

I am the only one awake in the house..
I should take advantage of it and get some things done but I am really just enjoying sitting here with my coffee. And as I type this I think I hear some stirring upstairs.

We found a house!
Yesterday we went to see a house in Apex and fell in love. It definitely fits us right now and for the next few years...move in ready, open floor plan, garage, fresh paint and carpet. We made an offer at 3pm, got a call back at 530 and the seller's countered at the same asking price, $500 less in closing costs and close one day early! So we're done...we're signing to final offer today. We close May 21, so we'll start packing soon.

Put a bid on a house...
*nail biting* We went out with the realtor today and found a house we just loved... It wasn't the one I was interested in, but this one was just reduced 10,000. It's a foreclosure and my aunt told me there was another buyer viewing it today. We went home and talked it over and decided to go ahead and put a bid in. It needs some work, but luckily, my parents don't mind us staying here until we get it fixed up the way we want. It has basically everything we wanted (except a fireplace :( ) and has so

big mammas house of soul
Hey girls! I had some ribs from there last night...sooooo good. I am a major rib person, every city i go to that is supposed to have good ribs, i check it out. This place blew away any other rib joint in pittsburgh (I had stopped eating ribs in the burgh). Great garlicky marinade, fall off the bone meat, not much gristle.

House next door is going up for sale soon
The house next door went into foreclosure and has been empty since September. Apparently it's going up for sale soon - I just met the realtor a few minutes ago and she said she's getting it ready to sell. I know this is horrible, but I really hope it doesn't sell any time soon. It's so nice not having anyone on that side. Or if it does sell, it better not be anyone obnoxious.

YEA!! We sold our house already
We put the FSBO sign up last sunday and had two showings this weekend. We got our full asking price and I even negotiated that I get to keep some of my curtains! YEA!! We don't have a house yet, so we close end of June but also have the option to rent back for one full month. So we are onto some serious house hunting!

I think that Jessicad asked where to rent one in the Omaha area so I thought that I would post this link. I work with the guy who used to own this business' wife. They recently sold everything to Bryan Hill Productions. http://bryanhill.com/Inflatables.html

***PamandJohn***re house stuff
Since you were so kind to help with house ideas last/this year I felt I should update you ... Otto's bandmate had kitchen work done and referred us to an awesome, down-to-earth contractor who we have a follow-up appointment with next week. While three other companies entertained our multi-wall-demolishing plans and gave us ideas of the astronomical costs it would incur, Susie gave it to us straight and told us all the possible complications we might have as well as why it might hinder future buyers.

When you have a house in " the city" do you have
to pay for water and sewage service? Where we live now we have a well and a septic tank. We've never owned anywhere else.
