The "friend" feature has been in effect since the rollout of the "old new" Nest/Knot. This was when the site introduced blogging, etc. It's sort of MySpace/Facebook-like. It doesn't serve much of a purpose, in my opinion. I basically accept anybody who wants to be my "friend." On the "old new" Nest/Knot, you could only send private messages to "friends." my peepers
i am impressed and amazed at how clear the world is. my new peepers are doing great after my LASIK procedure on thursday. i love it. i am so glad that i finally bit the bullet and had it done! i found out that i have very tiny eyes, but very large tear ducts. the surgery was a total trip. i am not sure i can even explain it at all. just so weird. the only side effect i have is a little bit of dry eye, but not as bad as i was warned about. i have no night halos or glare or anything like that. today

Feel so bad about friends baby shower tomorrow!
I just feel so bad for them. My friends dad and step mom are in FL for the winter and aren't coming home for it. A TON of people never RSVP'd to it at all. And of the over 100 things on the registry like 21 things have been bought. I know people buy things that aren't on it but they didn't get a lot of things they need. And I know some people didn't even want to do a shower. I understand that in like my moms generation they thought it was bad luck, but this is now! I feel like I should just buy more

Long vent re: friends and getting together
I know this might be considered silly, but I'm rather hurt. I posted Wed. about how this weekend has kinda gone a bit down the pooper due to cancellations on plans and such. When the new window pops up, click on "Add To My Friends", which is located right next to the screen name in the upper left corner. Still alive, just not much progress...
No, no, I didn't fall off the face of the earth, although I did kind of fall off the wedding planning wagon. Finding the chip in my diamond seems to have broken my unhealthy obsession with wedding planning, perhaps I'll be calmer as I move forward. (I was also very busy at work planning for an event that happened yesterday.) Nothing has progressed though. We need to go out to the park to measure if we can have a bigger tent than my co-worker had, we also need to count how many tables are out there

So much for that ham!
Turns out, I didn't need to go all out with the grocery shopping and meal planning last week. Andy was sick almost all weekend with some cold/flu thing. He had a fever some of Saturday and all day Sunday, and now he's all congested. Poor guy, he spent yesterday sleeping. So, I went to church by myself and then spent the afternoon relaxing. Of course, that means that I still have a nine pound ham in the fridge. I think I'll cook it up next weekend and ask some of our friends to come over and help

happy spring!

People do surprise you...
So my best friend from college seems to have no time to call me back. I've decided to forget trying to ask her to be in the wedding and just send her an invitation and hope she can make it. It's funny, when I thought about my wedding day I always assumed she'd be one of the people who would definitely be there. Other friends and members of my family I really wasn't sure would make it. I don't like my birthday. I'm not saying I don't like the fact that I was born on this day, but I don't like the whole hype around, "Happy Birthday!"
