my peepers
i am impressed and amazed at how clear the world is. my new peepers are doing great after my LASIK procedure on thursday. i love it. i am so glad that i finally bit the bullet and had it done! i found out that i have very tiny eyes, but very large tear ducts. the surgery was a total trip. i am not sure i can even explain it at all. just so weird. the only side effect i have is a little bit of dry eye, but not as bad as i was warned about. i have no night halos or glare or anything like that. today

Who would you be without your life story?
:) I saw this on a bumper sticker today, it had a web address to go with it... I sent my sister the phrase in a text message (we do that, it's nerdy but we send quotes to each other) and I figured I would just do a web search on it when I got home just to see what the webpage was all about... But a websearch doesn't bring up the site that was on the bumper sticker. It's just idle curiousity, but does anyone know what this was all about? It probably pulls up something dumb, but I still wanna know

A mom's life!
We are staying at an AMAZING family resort in NY this weekend www.mohonk.com and having a great time but my MIL doesn't really understand that having a 21mo old means you can't sit in the formal dining room for an hour and expect her to behave. So alas, I am sitting in the room nexting (thank god for wifi) and she is taking a nap while the rest of the family has lunch & enjoys the outside. I am hopeful the weather holds out because the grounds are amazing and we hope to go on a row boat this

Buh-bye TV!
After the wedding, Jason and I thought it was a good time to sign up for a television provider. We’d gotten a plasma screen as our wedding gift from one of my uncles and it seemed like a waste not to have some sort of cable. We chose Dish Network, signed up for their 18-month plan to waive the $50 installation fee, and have hated it from day one ! I’ve since vowed that I’ll never agree to a long term contract just to waive a fee. We plan on cancelling this month (after Rock of Love 2 is over with),

Women's Retreat: Spirituality in Life and Work
I posted on Wednesday my idea of leading a retreat on Spirituality in Life and Work with some of you Nesties! Here's a description again and some possible dates below: Everyone is welcome to attend regardless of religious affiliation or none at all. The focus would be finding spiritual meaning in our work and daily life--thinking about our life journey so far and where we want to go. We would have practices such as journaling, meditation and/or prayer, collage, etc. during the retreat. I am thinking

Funniest FWD I have ever seen in my life
I literally laughed so hard my co-worker laughed at me! I was wheezing, I kid you not. DH does just about everything except the shampoo mohawk (he's bald!) and the peeing in the shower (gross!) Enjoy! This is long, but I promise you will laugh Man vs. Woman: The Shower Part I: HOW TO SHOWER LIKE A WOMAN Take off clothing and place it in sectioned laundry hamper according to lights and darks. Walk to bathroom wearing a long dressing gown. If you see husband along the way, cover up any exposed areas.

Stressed out with life....
So I am looking for a little advice, and I need a little vent... DH and I have been married for a year at the end of next month, we are thinking we want to start TTC by the end of this year. I don't really have a full time job, I have 2 jobs but nothing with benefits or anything. I have the oppourtunity to become a treacher in the city of st.paul this fall full time, salaried, benefits - that whole deal. It sounds awesome, but I don't have my teaching license so I would be teaching during the day

Wow...life is too short.
I just found out that someone I knew in HS died two days ago. I was a sophomore and he was a freshman, and then a new school opened and he went there. So I didn't know him very well, but we were in marching band together. I remember our flute section picking on him because he was a short little roly poly freshman flute player who would try to test us once in a while. :) I saw him many years later at Office Depot and hardly recognized him because he was so tall and thin, and his voice was so deep

The scariest night of my life...
We have an AngelCare monitor in Rylie's crib. For those of you who don't know what that is, it is a regular sound monitor but it also senses their breathing. If they stop breathing an alarm goes off on the base unit in their room and also on the hand held receiver. At 3 AM I was awakened by the sound of the alarm going off. I have never moved so fast in my life. I honestly think my feet didn't touch the ground between my room and Rylie's room. When I got in there she was breathing so I don't know

Life Changes So Fast--sorry its al ittle long
This morning I'm talking back and forth (illegally of course) with my friend Saralyn via email. We're exchanging jokes and other funny things and laughing about them of course simply trying to avoid work because who wouldn't if they could? Then not even 2 hours later she calls me from her cell phone fighting back tears asking me to get ahold of someone in her department to relay some information(we work together). I'm starting to tear up because I know this can't be good, I immediately think "OMG

POLL: What life "badges" do you wear??
This may be a weird post, but try to follow me. You know how there are certain things in your life - how you were raised, events that made an impression on you, people that made an impression on you, things that are currently going on in your life, etc... that are constant recourring themes in your life. Lately I've been thinking about those as "badges" - you know... like on a Girl Scout sash. They are sorta "things" that define you, you talk to people about alot, and that you like most people to

36 Rules For Life
1. Never, under any circumstances, take a sleeping pill and a laxative on the same night. 2. Don't worry about what people think; they don't do it very often. 3. Going to church doesn't make you a Christian anymore than standing in a garage makes you a car. 4. Artificial intelligence is no match for natural stupidity. 5. If you must choose between two evils, pick the one you've never tried before. 6. My idea of housework is to sweep the room with a glance. 7. Not one shred of evidence supports the

life insurance
Sorry for another insurance question. We're getting life insurance along with our home, car, and umbrella insurance. Now comes the hard part, putting a price on our lives. Here's is what I'm figuring. Am I forgetting anything? our salary + price to pay off mortgage + price to pay off student loans + lost wages (for time off work) + funeral expenses I want to make it as easy on us if possible if one of us were to, well, die. If we could get all of this then whoever is left could left could live on
