Brett and I met through a mutual friend and became friends. Six months later we knew there was more and he asked me out on a date. We were together everyday from that day on. That was December 29, 2000. We knew we would marry one day, but wanted to get our life together first. He graduated college 3 years before I did and got a job in town to stay with me. For our 5 year anniversary I knew a ring was coming soon. So I was hoping for one. However, he got me a diamond pendant instead. The next day, my best friend was coming from Atlanta and wanted to have a girls night out. So we went to dinner and they made up an excuse to stop by my house. Waiting there was my entire family and his, friends, and him down on one knee. I walked in on the cell phone, and was like "I got to go" and dropped the phone. He really did surprise me. We planned a wedding 6 short months later, I graduated in May and we were married on July 8, 2006. He is my best friend and I am proud to be his wife.
