We did it! June 29th came so fast and was over before we knew it. We planned, married, and celebrated with 90 of our friends and family in Pittsburgh.

Vendor Information

Ceremony Location - St. Stanislaus-Kostka
A+! Fr. Nichols was fantastic! Dh and I started planning just as we were getting ready to move, so we didn't yet belong to a church in Pittsburgh. St. Stanislaus was one of the few catholic churches that allowed non-parishoners, was open, NO fees to use, and we LOVED Fr. Nichols. He made the whole process so much easier (orininally he asked that we bring our own officiant, but we were so glad that he did it!)

Reception Location - Parkview Social Hall
A. The manager is a bit annoying at times (would call me back right after we hung up to confirm whatever we had just spoken about, etc), but I had zero problems with the site and everything was great the day of the wedding.

Caterers - Mascaros Catering
A++! Peg was FANTASTIC! She came highly recommended by a nestie that used to work at the Hall - and only caterers at Parkview. She got hold of my vendors if I mentioned that I couldn’t reach them, she went out of her way to set up the hall for us the night before (I ran super late for the rehearsal with a box of things to set up and she did it all for me so I could get going), and the food was great. Since we didn’t meet our guest minimum, we still had to pay for the extra plates, but she did knock off the cost of some of our extras (napkins and such). It saved us a few hundred dollars in the end.

Cake Creator - Barb Mileski
A. The cake was cheap (1.50/slice), yummy, and looked good. She was hard to reach the week of the wedding (one of those people my caterer had to stalk down), but other than that no issues. Email me at new2pgh at yahoo.com if you would like her contact info.

Florist - DIY!
We DIYed our flowers using Sam's Club. It was a great experiance. The flowers were fresh and held up not only through the day, but all the way through the next 2 weeks!

Photographer - Dino Bovo
A+. We LOVELOVELOVE our photos! We got his lowest package – all digital, which got us about 700 photos and reprint rights for $700 .

Disc Jockey - Andy Hutelmyer
A+! He kept the evening moving smoothly, was a great MC, and kept the dancefloor packed. What more could you ask?

Tuxedos - Tuxedo Junction
A.I believe we are among the lucky few with zero problems using Tuxedo Junction.

My Dress - The Winner
A+. My dress was off the rack from the Winner (bridal outlet store in Sharon, Pa). Original price tag was somewhere around 1K, I bought it for $233.

Bridesmaid Dresses - Alexia Designs from Netbride.com
A+. Netbride rocks! They quoted us about $100 per dress than a local bridal shop and delivered exactly 30 days earlier than promised. Everything was in perfect condition.

Hair Stylist - Monica Kitta
A++! Monica was probably my favorite vendor of all! She arrived a bit early the day of the wedding, and since I wasn’t back from errands yet (when I should have been home cutting FI’s hair for him), so she cut his hair by the time I got home. She did my hair and 5 bridesmaids in less than 3 hours, and everyone’s hair held up all day. I paid her $30 for my updo. Email me at new2pgh at yahoo.com if you would like her contact info.

Makeup Artist - DIY, makeup from MAC at South Hills Villiage
A+.I did DIY makeup the day of, but had 3 different trials at the MAC counter until I found one that was “me”. Daniel was my favorite artist out of all of them. He did my eyes 3 times during the same trial to get them perfect. My makeup stayed on all day, no touchups required except for lip gloss.

Honeymoon Destination - Breezes Runaway Bay
A+. We LOVED Jamaica! The resort was beautiful, staff was friendly, food was good and the drinks kept flowing :) We booked through allinclusiveoutlet.com

Other Vendor - HBIC of Crafts - knottie SJF101406
A+++++. My other favorite vendor :) SaraH (knottie SJF101406) helped me design just about everything paper, and even offered up her house for a program-assembling party the weekend before.

Other Vendor - Linda Lacek - alterations
A-. Linda is a private seamstress in Bethel Park. She did great work for a fantastic price (my total bill was $18!), but she was hard to get hold of at times (like when I wanted to come pick up my dress). She also altered my sister's bridesmaid dress and it was perfect in just 1 fitting. Email me at New2pgh at yahoo.com for her contact info.
