Alex and I met in June of 2001 in a Yahoo games chat room, pyramids solitaire of all places. He was in a dying relationship while I was in a failed marriage. We became friends in our misery, trying to encourage each other to do the best thing for ourselves. Our relationships ended, we began to talk online every day for hours. It became the best part of my day. I flew out to Texas that October to meet him in person and two weeks later he moved out to California to be with me. We have been together ever since, through good times and bad. At almost five years together we finally decided to take the next step and get hitched. We share our home with Alex's daughter, three cats, four rats, and a hamster. In the summer Alex's son joins us.
